im playing pokemon soul silver and i want a catchable pokemon that would make my team complete cos im off to the league
at the moment i have
Lugia 63: extra sensory, fly, waterfall, aeroblast
Nidoking 64: surf, avalanch, megahorn, earthquake
Typhlosion 65: flamethrower, fireblast, rockslide, eruption
Leafeon 62 : giga drain, seed bomb, X-sizzor, grass whistle
Slowking 63 : Earthquake, Shadowball, Psychic, Power Gem
thats my team so far i do have these 2 which are kinda the same level as my team but
Gyarados 61: Dark Pulse, Icebeam, surf, dragon pulse
Snorlax 52: Ice Beam, Substitute Focus Punch, Solar Beam
but snorlax is to slow so dies quickly even though its tough and gyarados isnt powerfull so dies quickly

Gyarados would be the better option since its a higher level and has specific move coverage. Unfortunately for you both pokemon are usually design to be bulky tanks and since its just in the game, you can't really set up EV for it be usefull.
